The Challenge
- A client was unable to identify their paternal great-grandfather. Traditional paper records were inconclusive due to a common surname and frequent migrations.
The Research Path
- I applied the "DNA Strategy" by analyzing the client’s matches across three platforms. By using the Leeds Method and chromosome mapping, I identified a cluster of cousins that shared a specific ancestral couple in the Northeast. I then used traditional forensic research to find the only male descendant in that line who was in the right place at the right time.
The Result
- We broke through a 100-year-old "brick wall," identifying the great-grandfather and connecting the client with an entire branch of living relatives they never knew existed.
